Houston we have a problem %3A Breakup of Comet Elenin is slowing it down

In 2010,NASA's Hubble Space Telescope captured a strange, spaceship-like object traveling at 11000mph. Unlike comets, this object has an "X-shaped debris pattern [and] its 460-foot-wide nucleus is outside the dust halo and separated from the trail." The following information is provided by The Daily Galaxy. First discovered on ground based LINEAR images on January 6, this odd X-shaped object appeared unusual enough to investigate further and call in the big guns last week - the Hubble Space Telescope. What Hubble saw indicates that P/2010 A2 is unlike any object ever seen before. At first glance, the object appears to have the tail of a comet. Closer inspection, however, shows a 140-meter nucleus offset from the tail center, very unusual structure near the nucleus, and no discernable gas in the tail. Knowing that the object orbits in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, a preliminary hypothesis that appears to explain all of the known clues is that P/2010 A2 is the debris left over from a recent collision between two small asteroids. If true, the collision likely occurred at over 15000 kilometers per hour -- five times the speed of a rifle bullet -- and liberated energy in excess of a nuclear bomb. Pressure from sunlight would then spread out the debris into a trailing tail. Future study of P/2010 A2 may better indicate the nature of the progenitor collision and may help humanity better understand the early years of our Solar System, when many similar collisions ...The PageTurners of Round Rock ISD brought their third original mashup with a librarian theme to the 2012 TLA Book Cart Drill Team Competition in Houston. Together with my father-in-law and best friend Bob, we built the newest permanent dome observatory in Texas. Cosmic Obsession is going to bring the public access to the inner working of amateur astronomers who are using the tools available to them to get the answers they are after about questions arising in space. 2011 was an active year for astronomical events. The passage of multiple comets and asteroids has increased fear about the possibility of a catastrophic event from space affecting us here on Earth. I have taken it upon myself to take action against these events. I decided to do my own research on the subject and it has brought us to this point in our progress. We will be introducing more people to the universe through the eyepiece of our telescopes. Once the permanent dome observatory is complete and filled with our tools, we will begin a regular routine of reporting and imaging the questionable objects in space. You can access more information on the observatory and our daily update blog on the observatory website. www.cosmicobsession.com You can find out more about Francis Walsh by connecting with him on Facebook http You can hear the radio programs on Revolution Radio and American Freedom Radio Collision Course www.freedomslips.com Stranger Advice with John Zaskoda Mon-Wed-Fri at 2PM in New York on www.americanfreedomradio.com Francis Walsh is on Stranger Advice every Wednesday starting at 2PM in New York City. After leading Horlick High School to the WIAA Division 1 state championship basketball game and being chosen the Associated Press Player of the Year in 1987, Henning became an All-American at Stanford University and led the Cardinal to the NCAA championship in 1990. In 1999, the gifted 5-foot-7 guard helped the Houston Comets to the WNBA title. Henning, who also participated in state meets in track and tennis while at Horlick, resides in Portland, Ore., where she is the Senior Director Business Affairs, North America Sports Marketing, for Nike.
UT Dallas' Brittany Houston talks about the Comets' season-opening 60-41 win over Paul Quinn. This is the video from Saturday morning September 24. I am welding the base plate onto the telescope pier pipe. The base of the pipe will be set in concrete up to five feet deep. This is the work that makes the whole job better and more reliable in the end. What are we building? We are building a permanent observatory outside of Houston Texas called Cosmic Obsession www.cosmicobsession.com My name is Francis and you can find me here on YouTube as ThePerfectMinds (subscribe!) or on Facebook as www.facebook.com I am an author, artist, and astronomer. If you would like an original painting by me of one of the three major comets (Elenin, Honda, and Levy), feel free to contact me. I am happy to spread some art. Paintings start at $30 and I have sold a couple already. If you want a reference, I have those too. Payments via Paypal to powerfitz@powerfitz.com You can support the research, buy a plaque with your name on it and we'll put it inside the observatory. Just let me know what you're thinking, and I'll make it happen if I can. Have a great day, FrancisFrom the album: "The Legend" Originally appeared as "Sweet Gertrude" on "More Work Songs From The Planet Of The Apes" LYRICS: Maureen always had such a hold on me I thought of moving to Vancouver In fact one time she called me on the telephone, invited me to hang with her alone I dropped everything and went I was so surprised when I got there all she did was talk about her boyfriend But I kinda didn't care, because of her hair and her crooked bottom teeth, which I wished I could kiss over and over Why didn't you tell me you had a boyfriend? I might not have spent all that money flying here We were five years old, when I opened the door and her dog ran outside never to be seen more I was the one that brought her bad luck And they moved away and of her I forgot On Towne Island we met again, 18 years old With each of her smiles I knew there was no use for gold I could make her laugh 'till she lost her breath and begged me to stop before death inevitably would result And so I stopped and I kissed her mouth And I thought about the comets that come once a century, because this woman was too beautiful to make love with me Maureen and I climbed fire escape steps to have rooftop sunsets Promise you'll never forget Cissy Houston and Herbie Mann playing "Cajun Moon" by JJ Cale while I held your hand On the Trans Canada on an icy drive I awoke to her screaming, we almost died The Honda spun round, I yelled "Brake!", and we hit a snowbank just feet from a lake She loved me without ...Just when you thought it was safe to go back into space... Post Scripts : 1) The deceleration of the Comet can only be explained by its Breakup - allowing more surface area to be affected by the Solar Wind - thus these two events serve to confirm each other. 2) This guy seems to have arrived at the same conclusion I have by different means : Comet Elenin Update September 2 youtu.be 3) Let's look at the Facts : a) Comet Elenin broke up circa last week of August b) Within ten days NASA comes out with new JPL coordinates for the Comet c) These new coordinates show the Comet has lost three days Conclusion - something about the breakup has led to the Comet slowing down - the only thing to me that makes since is the Solar Wind until some better explanation is given. End result is still the same. 4) Speaking of that end result - the comet was going to miss us by a substantial amount but now, with the break up, it is going to pass dangerously close. It is as if the breakup put it on a collision course for the earth. This indicates that the breakup was intentional. 5) At precisely 1:38 in the video the Model of the JPL coordinates shows Comet Elenin crossing the Eliptic well before September 11 and thus I stand by everything I have said in this video. 6) Here is a video that shows the effects of Solar Winds (which, to me, includes CME's) on Comets : youtu.be 7) I have determined a way to check this. Per the original trajectories, Elenin will pass between Earth and the Sun circa ...

The lyrics describe a nondescript establishment, with a green door, behind which "a happy crowd" play piano, smoke and "laugh a lot", and inside which the singer is not allowed. The hit version of the song in the United States was recorded by Jim Lowe (backed by the orchestra of songwriter Davie, with Davie also playing piano), and it reached #1 on the Billboard charts in 1956. In the United Kingdom, Lowe's version reached #8 on the charts, but a version by Frankie Vaughan was even more popular, reaching #2. Another UK recording, by Glen Mason, reached #24 on the UK chart. The most popular version was by rock and roll star Shakin' Stevens which spent four weeks at number one in July 1981. In 1964, Bill Haley & His Comets recorded a version for a single release on Decca Records during an unsuccessful attempt to make a comeback with the label that had made them famous with "Rock Around the Clock" (this version was produced by Milt Gabler). Country humorist Mayf Nutter re-charted the song in 1973. Crystal Gayle recorded the song in 1977, and it has since become a fan favorite at her concerts. The Cramps have also recorded the song, on the 1981 album, Psychedelic Jungle. You may also know Thompson was the first player to be drafted and is #1 in the league for career scoring. You probably also know she was part of the original big three for the Houston Comets en route to their four straight WNBA titles. Sticking with Houston until their folding sent her to Los Angeles via the dispersal draft, Thompson considers herself a pioneer in highlighting the versatility potential in post players. She talks with Mike Peden about her growth, where she sees the league in the next 15 years and her experience of sharing the WNBA Legends Roundtable broadcast with Lisa Leslie, Sheryl Swoopes and Lynette Woodward.Even after two seasons off before signing with the Tulsa Shock to become the league's second active player at 40 years of age or older, little needs to be said when the name Sheryl Swoopes is mentioned. Part of the alliterative Big Three with Cynthia Cooper and Tina Thompson in the Houston Comets dynasty, Swoopes would become the league's only three-time regular season MVP, also earning three Defensive Player of the Year Awards while in Houston. For good measure, she added three Olympic gold medals to her resumé in 1996, 2000 and 2004. Returning this season with Tulsa to guide a young core of players, Swoopes talks with Mike Peden about the WNBA's 15th season and her effort to lead the next generation of players.
For 18 years, Cynthia has used her voice to positively represent a major agency in uniform for patriotic and organizational events. Over the years, she sang the National Anthem for various sporting organizations such as the Houston Rockets, Houston Astros, Houston Texans, Houston Comets, several Freedom Over Texas Festivals, NASCAR, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Cynthia is an indie singer who wants to use her voice to "Convey Hope, plant Seeds of Christ's Love, Soothe souls, and make you Think." Being an indie means there's no deep pockets pushing her name and music, so it's all up to her at this point. She has a heart for worship and currently assists Worship Arts Pastor Richard Carr of Copperfield Church in Houston. She released a five-song gospel-style CD in 2003, then went on to write and record a full CD with Producer Jeff Nelson in Nashville, TN., releasing it in 2008. The project is not aimed at the conventional church, per se, but at a larger audience who needs to hear a positive message in a negative world. Cynthia spent alot of time over the years trying to determine the path and platform for herself and her music. She is currently working on a book and new music and will use those resources to reach out to various women's and professional organizations for use as a motivational platform. This video is just a fun, behind-the-scenes look at what Cynthia and her family have the privilege to participate in at any given time.My Interview with Sparks TINA THOMPSON Multi time champion w/ the Houston Comets & now still with the Sparks talks about her quest for another WNBA Title, and they are the team to beat @ LA Sparks Media 2011Nabaté Isles conducts interviews from the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame's Enshrinement Weekend.
